The Australian Association for Bush Adventure Therapy Inc. (AABAT) is a volunteer-led national body established to support and develop Bush Adventure Therapy and nature-based health interventions in Australia.

Although only 4 months into 2020, we have already experienced unprecedented turmoil that has affected people in diverse ways. The horrific 2019/20 bushfires will remain in our collective memory, with many of our community still in the early stages of recovery. Now we are being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and accompanying economic slowdown.

AABAT recognises the massive impact these events have had and are having on our lives and outdoor livelihoods. We all know someone who is hurting as a result of these events that continue to unfold.

In response to these events, AABAT will be hosting a series of Wellbeing Webinars. The purpose of these online gatherings is to provide a safe supportive space to share experiences of hardship and hope.

We invite all interested people from outdoor fields to join one or more webinars, whether you are a practitioner, manager, student, researcher or participant, and whether you are working in BAT or related outdoor fields.

The webinars will be structured in response to the needs of our outdoor  community. To help plan useful gatherings, we ask that interested people share something about where you are at, via the questions in the RSVP form.

We look forward to connecting with our community and understanding the implications of COVID-19 on our work and day-to-day life.
