About Wayne

Wayne graduated from UniSA in the mid 80’s with a B.Ed in Physical Education and Biology. He continued graduate studies in health counselling and went onto to work in corporate health promotion and leadership/team development for over a decade before starting his own business in the year 2000. He has been working in the field of adventure-based experiential learning for over 25years and volunteering as a bush adventure therapy guide for 10years with Operation Flinders Foundation, currently serving on their Clinical Advisory Committee and training team. Wayne is founder and director of Free Spirit True North, an Adelaide-based organisation that specialises in leadership, team and personal development, wellness retreats and adventure journeys. Wayne has a passion for personal development using nature-based experiences and is author of The Spirit of Adventure Calls – A Compass for life, Learning & Leadership. Married and parent to two young men, he enjoys time relaxing at home with family and their ‘therapy greyhound’ Tom when not on an adventure. Wayne looks forward to working with Will Dobud to represent the needs of South Australian AABAT members and the wider AABAT community.
